Alois Lageder Cabernet Riserva
Alois Lageder Cabernet Riserva is an elegant red wine from South Tyrol, made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The grapes come from the renowned vineyard sites of Margreid and Kurtatsch, on calcareous, gravelly soils at 240 to 350 metres above sea level. Careful maceration in stainless steel, malolactic fermentation and ageing in small wooden casks, concrete vessels and stainless steel give the wine its layered structure.
Colour and aroma
The Cabernet Riserva shows a **deep cherry-red colour with garnet highlights**. Its bouquet combines **intense berry-fruit aromas** with delicate spice.
Palate
On the palate, the wine is **generous and fruity**, with a **medium-bodied structure** and a pleasantly **gentle bitter note** on the finish.
Food pairing
This Cabernet Riserva pairs particularly well with **robust meat dishes** such as **beef, lamb or game**, as well as **mature cheeses**.
In brief
With an **ideal drinking window of two to eight years**, Alois Lageder Cabernet Riserva is a versatile wine whose fruit, spice and fine structure are held in balance.
